Sharon Odam Photography is located in Devine, Texas, about 40 miles south of San Antonio, Texas. Sharon has been interested in researching and recording her family history since she was a child. She would spend hours listening to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members recall stories of long ago and try to record all the information she could. It was a thrill for her to sit and go through a box of old family photos and it was often painful for her to see how faded some of those photos were becoming.Because of her desire to preserve those treasured memories of her ancestors, it was only natural that she became skilled in photo restoration work. She became talented in capturing those precious moments as well through her portrait work. Her intense love of nature and the outdoors led her to create an extensive gallery of decorative wall art that continues to grow with each passing season. If you want to bring the beauty of nature into your home, you are sure to find something to compliment any decor, whether it is nostalgic country scenes of old wooden windmills, barns, and houses to classic still lifes. Her collection features many South Texas scenes with bluebonnets, yuccas, and prickly pear. You can view a sampling of her art work at her gallery on Texas Country Designs. Sharon also designs specialty greeting cards for all occasions, country, and inspirational wall decor.
Sharon continues to research the surnames of Odam, Mabery, Beckhusen, Aschenbach, Anderson, Peoples, and Henderson. Her life-long dream is to compile all the photos and information she has gathered through the years into a heritage book for her children and grandchildren.
